The rapper cites ‘personal reasons’ for his withdrawal…

We have bad news for hip-hop fans. US rapper Kendrick Lamar won’t be performing at the Yasalam After-Race Concerts in the nation’s capital after all – he’s pulled out, citing ‘personal reasons’. The star was originally meant to be performing on Friday November 24.

But organisers Flash Entertainment have already found a replacement – The platinum selling, hip-hop producer and performer J. Cole.

The star, who was born in Germany but grew up in North Carolina, is a multi-Grammy-nominated artist. You can expect tracks from his last album 4 Your Eyez Only, which he released in April of this year. It’s a platinum album that went in at No1 on the Billboard 200 chart when it was released.

Cole has released four albums since 2007 and been nominated for five Grammys in total, including Best Hip-Hop Song of the Year and Best New Artist.

Cole joins fellow headlines Pink, Mumford And Sons and Calvin Harris for race weekend. Read all about the other headliners here.
