They will be in circulation until the end of 2018…

Travellers arriving at and departing from Abu Dhabi International Airport will receive a shiny new stamp in their passports commemorating the Year of Zayed.

A joint venture with the Department of Immigration, the new stamp consists of an image of the UAE’s founding father, HH Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan, with the words “In memory of the founding father” underneath it.

“Our founding father Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan established a policy and practice of welcoming international guests to our shores, as well as frequently traveling around the world for the considerable and impactful diplomacy that gained him global recognition.” said Abdul Majeed Al Khoori, acting Chief Executive Office at Abu Dhabi Airports.

“To have his image and legacy imprinted in passports traveling through Abu Dhabi Airport is a fitting commemoration as we celebrate the Year of Zayed and reflect on his values and principles,” Al Khoori added.

The commemorative stamps will continue to be in circulation until the end of 2018.
