The British singer joins urban star The Weeknd and rockers Guns N’ Roses in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix concert line-up

We gave you the final clue yesterday and now we can confirm it: Brit singer songwriter Sam Smith is the third artist performing at the Yasalam after-race concerts this year.

Set to perform on Saturday November 24, the pop megastar will be bringing soulful sound and heartfelt hits to Abu Dhabi for the first time.

Smith rose to fame as the vocalist on UK dance act Disclosure’s Latch in 2012, and went on to see his 2014 debut album, In The Lonely Hour win him four Grammys and five top ten singles in the UK charts.

His emotionally-charged singles include Stay With Me, Lay Me Down and I’m Not The Only One, and have seen him become one of pop’s most recognised voices of the past few years.

The singer only released music again in 2017, after spending two years working on his second studio album, The Thrill of It All.

The first single from his second album, Too Good At Goodbyes, debuted at number one in the UK charts, and was followed up by the hugely successful One Last Song, and Pray. The fourth single from the album, Baby You Make Me Crazy, was just released last week.

At What’s On, we can’t wait to see him come and perform hits from the album live, as he was one of the three artists we predicted at the end of last year.

Smith joins the already announced urban star The Weeknd, who will perform on Friday November 23, and legendary rockers Guns N’ Roses, who will close the show on Sunday November 25. A fourth artist is still to be announced later in the year.

If you get your tickets before July 31, you’ll be able to take advantage of a 20 per cent discount.
