The Abu Dhabi museum was described as “one of the best art galleries in the world”.

It seems the world can’t get enough of the Louvre Abu Dhabi.

The Saadiyat Island art museum has received yet another accolade, being named among the “seven urban wonders of the world”.

In the ranking, put together by Hilton Hotels and Resorts with the help of thousands of travellers, the Great Wall of China and Rome’s Colosseum are replaced with more quirky locations, such as The Bund in Shanghai and the Camden Market in London.

“Since opening in 2017, the Louvre Abu Dhabi has instantly become one of the best art galleries in the world, featuring impressive installations,” read the description for the iconic Jean Nouvel-designed museum.

The seven wonders were shortlisted based on factors including the local cuisine, architecture, heritage and culture, diversity, activities available and -of course – Instagrammability.

In August, the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the newly opened Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi were featured in Time magazine’s list of the world’s greatest places for 2018. They were the only UAE attractions to make the ranking.

Here are the 7 urban wonders of the world…

1. Louvre Abu Dhabi

2. Sydney Opera House

3. Tsukiji Fish Market, Tokyo

4. Camden Market, London

5. The Bund, Shanghai

6. Temple Street Night Market, Hong Kong

7. Albertina, Vienna
