Eat your way around Taste of Abu Dhabi

The capital’s fun food weekend makes its return! At its heart, Taste of Abu Dhabi is all about trying as many dishes as is humanly possible – there are 48 signature dishes from local restaurants on offer. For the first time, visitors can shop at the Local Harvest Farmers’ Market and enter a world of all things sweet and spongy at the Big Baking Tent. Also, expect celebrity chefs, kids’ activities and live music, with performances on Thursday night by 2017 Britain’s Got Talent singer Sarah Ikumu (8pm to 8.30pm), Girls Aloud’s Nadine Coyle (8.45pm to 9.30pm) and London’s The Bootleg Beatles (9.45pm to 11.15pm).

Head to a K-pop night at Bounce Abu Dhabi

Love EXO and Girls’ Generation? Head along to Bounce Abu Dhabi, which is hosting a K-pop party at their Marina Mall outlet tonight. Guests will be able to take part in fun games like Aegyo, Intro Guess, Random Play Dance, and Running Man, as well as have their K-pop knowledge tested by staff to be in to win some cool prizes. Party rooms will be decked out with karaoke gear, and fans who come dressed as their favourite K-pop idol will have a shot at being crowned Daesang (the grand winner). Korean snacks will also be available throughout the night.

Tuck into all-you-can-eat pancakes

Celebrate the Louvre’s first birthday

The Louvre Abu Dhabi is celebrating its one-year anniversary with a huge line-up of events (including a special concert by Dua Lipa on Sunday). This weekend is pop-up architecture weekend, where you can take part in a free 30-minute discovery tour at 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm. Families can also work together to build constructions inspired by the Louvre’s iconic dome using large geometric shapes in the park in front of the museum.

Pick up some produce at the Ripe Market

The popular Abu Dhabi Ripe Market is back at Umm Al Emarat Park. The al fresco market takes place every Saturday from 3pm to 9pm during the cooler months, and will feature more than 100 stalls, with fashion, beauty, art, home decor, and locally grown fruit and veggies from Ripe Organic on offer.

Check out a Korean Film Festival

The UAE’s second-ever Korean Film Festival takes place in Abu Dhabi this weekend, with nine excellent films to watch (with English subtitles). Also be sure to check out the Korean virtual reality film experience that can be enjoyed for free in the foyer of Vox Cinema at Yas Mall.
