Thursday, March 7

1. Take part in the UAE National Sports Day

Celebrated on March 7, the UAE National Sports Day invites everyone from kids to seniors to take part in some fun sporting related activities and demonstrations. Held at the Zayed Cricket Stadium, over 40 different sporting activities will be showcased, ranging from Jiu Jitsu and archery to Taekwondo and football. The day will kick off with a 2.5 km UAE Walk for Tolerance 2019.

2. Attend a ballet

The country of honour for the Abu Dhabi Festival this year is Korea, and with a spotlight on this nation, the Korean National Ballet take to the stage. The Korean National ballet will showcase a 90-member troupe of dancers performing the timeless romantic tragedy Giselle at Emirates Palace.

3. Enjoy live house music at Buddha-Bar beach

An international line up of guests DJs are set to hit Buddha-Bar beach all of this month. The beachside venue, located on the pristine beach of Saadiyat Island will see DJ Martin Ikin performing this Thursday. He has created remixes with the likes of Mariah Carey and released records under leading labels such as Head Kandi.

Friday, March 8

4. Dig into a brunch

Start your weekend off right with a brunch. Tuck into a delicious spread at Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi, where two restaurants from the hotel, Cho Gao and Spaccanapoli join forces to bring you a range of European and Asian delicacies. 5. Compete in the Daman World Triathlon Abu Dhabi

The first race of the global triathlon season, the Daman World Triathlon Abu Dhabi comes to Yas Island from March 8 to 9. Join elite athletes swimming, cycling and running the course, or sign up for the 1km Family Fun Run. Even if you’re not competing, the Event Village promises a fun day for the whole family, with competitions, food trucks and live entertainment. Sign up on their website to check out the fees if you want to partake.

6. Enjoy an extended happy hour deal

Hidden Bar, the slick and intimate bar at the Rosewood Hotel hosts a happy hour every night of the week where guests can enjoy two beverages for the price of one. The cool bar has now extended their happy hour timings so you can enjoy the two-for-one deal from midnight to 3am on Saturday to Thursday, while remaining open until 4am on Wednesday to Friday.

7. Eat a cheesy dish!

Roberto’s in Abu Dhabi has given cheese lovers something to really look forward to this month. Throughout March, the award-winning Italian is offering an exclusive ‘Parmigiano Reggiano’ menu, aka parmesan cheese menu. You can expect to find dishes such as fried polenta with grilled porcini mushroom, truffles and 18-month Parmigiano Reggiano and deep fried black cod with chives and 20-month “Vacche Rosse” Parmigiano Reggiano. For dessert, enjoy a pear topped with vanilla whipped cream and a 24-month Parmigiano Reggiano ice-cream.

8. Catch the Legendary Cirque du Soleil

The legendary circus show, Cirque du Soleil will be performing in Abu Dhabi this week, with their new production, Bazzar. Running from March 6 to 16, it’s described as a ‘breath-taking, colourful homage to Cirque du Soleil legacy’. Bazzar will feature an array of death-defying acrobats, awe-inspiring dancers and talented musicians ready to wow the audience. It’s a show you must not miss.
