Bored with being force-fed Hollywood blockbusters but keen to experience a fancy night out at the flicks? Gaucho – the Argentinian institution in DIFC – might have just the ticket for you.

A new, free, movie night started this week in the stylish setting of Gaucho’s upstairs lounge area. The dark-velvety sofas are rearranged and positioned along rows in front of a large roll-down screen and guests have the opportunity to indulge in its new, luxury cinema experience.

The screening we caught was the Audrey Hepburn classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s – a perfectly glamorous complement to the equally trendy surroundings of Gaucho.

After being directed to our sofa and handed a deliciously creamy coke float, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a regular night at the movies and as soon as the film began, the treats started rolling in.

You see, it’s not the opportunity to catch iconic films that’ll leave you so satisfied from Gaucho’s, it’s the gourmet cinema snacks they serve to your table that’s the real winner here. Gone are the plastic cheese nachos and sickly sweet buckets of whatever ‘treat’ for which you’ve over-payed. Instead you’ll find gloriously tasty truffle-infused popcorn, and gourmet deep-fried nachos served with chipotle chutney and homemade guacamole. And that’s not all. There’s a lounge menu of other equally delightful dishes including mini burgers with prime beef, salmon ceviche and epicurean hot dogs.

In the coming months, Gaucho will continue showing classics free of charge including Some Like It Hot, Singing In The Rain and Psycho but they limit the number of attendees so it’s vital to book ahead if you want to go, and we highly recommend you do.
