It’s officially winter in Dubai and what better way to celebrate the cooler climes than a night in the park under the stars watching a movie, free of charge?

Dubai’s ultimate do-gooders The Sameness Project – famous for its community project Water for Workers, where the public hand out bottles of water and say ‘thank you’ to labourers – is hosting a mini film festival featuring Sameness-themed movies that are good for the soul.

The Dubai-based company has joined forces with The Archive in Safa Park to offer free movie-night experiences each week. The café’s front lawn will be transformed into an outdoor cinema with a large screen and beanbags on the grass. You’ll also be able to order food from The Archive to top off the experience.

Remember: due to the ongoing construction in the area, movie-goers must park at Gate 1 or Gate 2. You can call The Archive – 04 3494033 – and they’ll arrange a golf buggy to pick you up and drive you to the open-air cinema.

Indoor art hub A4 Space in Alserkal is also in on the action and each film will screen once at The Archive (outdoors) and once at A4 Space (indoors) during the same week.
