If you’re a fan of French Montana or Akon, then grab your tickets for Dubai’s Dance Afrique right now (na na na na).

The two artists are set to headline the October 8 Meydan event, which aims to celebrate everything African.

The lads will share the stage with other African artists, including Awilo Longomba from the Republic of Congo, Flavour N’abania from Nigeria and more.

Aliaume Thiam, better known as Akon rose to fame in 2004 following the release of the single Locked Up.

He went on to release the mega-tunes Smack That, Lonely and Beautiful, and has also collab-ed with some of the best including Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Lil’ Wayne.

Akon and French Montana also teamed up for the single Hurt Somebody, which we can be sure to hear on the day.

Akon is a fan of coming to the UAE – and was last here this month last year. Here he is skydiving on that trip:

French Montana, known best for his hit songs Lose ItAin’t Worred About Nothin’, Pop That, Freaks ft. Nicki Minaj (and for dating Khloe Kardashian) is set to release a new album at the end of October. So perhaps fans and concert-goers will be given a taste of what’s to be expected from the upcoming Mac and Cheese: The Album. (Great name.)

This is Dance Afrique’s second year – and it’s set to be epic. Here’s an awesome song from Awilo Longomba, who will also be there on the night (we dare you to listen to this without at least tapping a foot):

And here’s a sample of Nigerian star Flavour’s soulful music:
