The biennial Dubai International Motor Show is back in town this week, running from November 10 to 15. This means five days of motoring madness – to make life easier for you, we’ve picked out the five things not to be missed at the 13th edition of the show.

1. See the world’s dreamiest supercars all in one place

The most high-performance and expensive sports cars will live under one roof during the five day show in the aptly-named area ‘Boulevard of Dreams’. Head here and see names like Panoz, Alvis Car Company, David Brown and the UAE Roadster all in one place.

2. Take a trip back in time

For the first time ever, the Motor Show will be home to a nostalgia museum that sees 80 of the rarest and most coveted cars from the 1950s to the 1980s in one place (with a collective value of Dhs300,000 million). Donated for the occasion by many enthusiasts, including HH Sheikh Hasher Bin Juma Al Maktoum, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, Tomini Classics, the Sharjah Museum and the Al Ain Classics collections, you’ll see everything from a 1951 Riley RMC Roadster to a striking 1955 300SL Mercedes Benz Gullwing to name just a few. We’ll be keeping an eye out for this striking Lamborghini Countach, which will also be on show: lambo

You’ll find the nostalgia museum in Zabeel 1 Hall throughout the show.

3. Hang with the two-wheel crew

The show will also feature a dedicated Bikers Lounge (with a special Bikers Day on November 13) where you’ll find customised bikes from the likes of Royal Enfield, Trikkes, MD Augusta, CAN AM and Ducati, as well as accessories and tips.

Helmet artist Mohammed Fareed will also be on hand to customise your headgear – here’s some of his work:

4. Gear up for expert talks

If topics like where to get your ride customised and off road routes appeal to you, then the free Ignition Live Talks will be where you’ll want to be.

The talks cover everything from trends to maintenance, and tuning to dune bashing. Head here to see the schedule for Tuesday and Wednesday, and here for the Thursday, Friday and Saturday talks. We’ll definitely be heading down at 7pm on Tuesday to see rally car legend Ken Block interviewed (fast fact: Block is also the co-founder of DC shoes).

5. Battle the World Land Speed Record

Inside the Motor Show you’ll find a simulator that will give you a chance to feel what it would be like to drive at 1,000 miles per hour (i.e. above the land speed record). Why? Well Jaguar has partnered with Bloodhound SSC on a project that employs a group of scientists and engineers with the aim of creating a car that will one day be able to travel at 1,000 miles per hour (not on Sheikh Zayed Road though please).
