We’re living in the age of technology, and those of you who consider yourselves gamers will know that gaming in a group is way more fun than pulling a solo all-nighter. Well, most of the time.

So we’ve gone ahead and put together a list of six of the best gaming cafes in Dubai – so, round up some buddies, grab some sodas and get ganking.

1. Que Club

Que Club

What? This one’s the ‘trendy’ ‘upmarket’ option (well, as upmarket as gaming cafes get). It’s one of the most competitive gaming centres in the city, and also has billiards and a café. There are regular tournaments for both billiards and video games. There’s a separate VIP gaming section kitted out with larger monitors for birthday parties, large groups or just those of you feeling extra plush.

Prices? Dhs10 per hour for a computer, Dhs11 per hour for a VIP computer.

Details: Near Lamcy Plaza Mall, Oud Metha, Bur Dubai. 10am to 3am. Tel: (04) 3365551. Other location: Al Barsha 1, opposite Dubai American Academy, Emerald Properties Building. 10am to 3am. queclub.com.

2. Rails Billiards

Rails

What? A newer option. Billiards, foosball, console and computer gaming are all available here. They’ve got a café selling good, cheap food if you get hungry, and have many offers available for repeat gamers. Every time you rent a computer, you earn ‘coins’ which can be redeemed for more gaming, food and drink, and even gaming mice.

Prices? Dhs10 per hour for a computer, Dhs40 per hour for PS4.

3. Golden Hall Café Dubai

Golden Hall

What? A billiards and gaming centre with adjoining café that hosts weekly gaming and billiards tournaments. Alas, there’s no VIP section for the computers, but if you fancy a spot of shisha after a gaming sesh then you can find it being served in the café. This is one to hang out in as well, it’s big but friendly.

Prices? Dhs10 per hour for a computer.

Details: Golden Hall, Net.com Building, next to Families Supermarket, Oud Metha. 9am to 3am. Tel: (04) 4489086. facebook.com/goldenhallcafe.

4. Millennium Avenue Gaming Café

Millenium Gaming Cafe

What? A billiards and gaming café that hosts semi-regular tournaments. There’s a separate VIP section for the more hardcore crowd or birthday parties, with a small café selling snacks and refreshments. The vibe’s competitive, and because it’s in the old part of the city it has very loyal regulars. Ooh, and it hosts ping pong tournaments too (as you do).

Prices? Dhs6 per hour for a computer, Dhs10 per hour for a VIP computer.

Details: Millenium Avenue Gaming Café, New Al Safiya Building, Abu Hail Road, Hor Al Anz, Deira. 9am to 3am. Tel: (050) 8400430. facebook.com/millenniumgamingcafe.

5. Ezone

Ezone

What? They have a friendly rivalry with Millennium around the corner (number 4 on our lift). There’s billiards, gaming and a café all under one roof (they serve Starbucks coffee). There’s a separate VIP room for large groups and parties, with a café for snacks if you’re feeling peckish mid-sesh.

Prices? Dhs7 per hour for a computer, Dhs10 per hour for a VIP computer.

Details: Ezone, 20 Street, Abu Hail. 10am to 3am. Tel: (04) 2654998. facebook.com/ezonedubai.

6. Flamingo

Flamingo

What? Another billiards-cum-gaming lounge with an adjoining café. There’s no computer VIP section on offer, but there are separate PS4 and karaoke rooms for rental.

Prices? Dhs7 per hour for a computer, Dhs25 for PS4 room rental, Dhs30 for karaoke room rental.
