IN PICTURES: The rainforest inside a Dubai skyscraper

Is this the lushest tower in Dubai? Quite possibly…

Last October we told you that a new skyscraper being built in the city was set to house its very own rainforest.

Where? The Rosemont Hotel and Residences, situated on Sheikh Zayed Road close to Tecom Barsha Heights.

The Dhs2 billion dual skyscraper complex, being constructed under the direction of ZAS Architects Dubai, will each stand over 50 stories tall.

One of the towers will serve as a hotel, while the other will be made up of serviced apartments.

However, you didn’t click on the article to hear about the complex. Let’s be honest, it was the artificial rainforest that drew you in.

The rainforest will consist of a 75,000-square-foot jungle, as well as a splash pool, café and artificial beach. Well, a sandless beach.

For the families, there’ll be plenty of trail and play zones, as well as a Jurassic-inspired marsh for the little ones. Don’t worry, it’s dinosaur-free.

The futuristic terrarium will also use recycled water collected from condensation in order to imitate the humid climate of a real rainforest.

That’s not the only cool part of the complex though, no.

Upon stepping into the lobby, guests will find themselves beneath a ceiling with an ever-changing 3D projection to trick them into thinking they’re either inside a lush rainforest, underwater paradise and everything in between.

On the higher floors, you’ll also find a skypool with a star-studded base, so you can swim while peering out over sprawling views of the city.

If that’s not doing it for you, you can make use of the entertainment complex, which features a skydive simulator, bowling alley and luxury cinema.

We already feel jealous of the people who’ll get to stay there in the future – and don’t even get us started on those who get to live there.

The Rosemont Hotel and Residences complex is looking to open in 2018.
