Have you checked out this healthy food and juice spot in Alserkal Avenue? Well you should…

Fitness fans will recognise Wild & The Moon for the cold-pressed juices and healthy snacks that took over Dubai’s gyms and cafés last year. It’s not only Dubai that’s hooked; the trendy brand recently unveiled Wild Bar in Paris and now it has opened a permanent spot in Dubai’s Alserkal Avenue.

The café has a minimalist, no-fuss feel with long benches made of reclaimed wood, potted plants dangling above and a small menu hanging off a white wall.

Open for breakfast, lunch and all-day snacks, it focuses on nutritious plant-based dishes that are free from gluten, refined sugar, additives, chemicals, GMOs, soy and dairy.

Considering all these restrictions, the variety on offer will come as a surprise. On first glance the avo toast (Dhs45) is a little disappointing – just three small scoops of mashed avocado alongside some thin veggie crackers. Fortunately it’s more filling that it looks, and the za’atar and lemon juice give the fresh avocado a zesty kick.

The mysterious ‘magic budwig’ bowl (Dhs45) resembled baby food but was full of flavour – the mix of ground sprouted almonds, spirulina and banana made for a seriously nutritious start to the day.

The bullet-proof coffee (Dhs30) is bang on trend, too. Made with ghee, it’s the only non-vegan item on the menu, and once you get past the oily sheen, you’ll be firing on all cylinders. They also have filter coffee (Dhs17) with almond and coconut milk.

Wild & The Moon sports a winning trifecta – great design, tasty coffee and a condensed menu that’s unique enough to keep diners coming back for more.
