It looks like something out of a child’s cartoon but believe it or not, this human catapult actually real (don’t try this at home though, kids).

As if all Dubai was missing was more crazy stunts, base jumpers Chris McDougall and Jummy Pouchert can be seen in a recent video getting flung out of a giant slingshot, 300 feet into the air over the city.

In an activity not for the faint-hearted, the two base jumpers would have been subjected to a whopping 6Gs as they travelled from 0 to 200 kilometres per hour in just a single second.

Think Angry Birds on steroids.

Here’s the video:

We’re not going to lie, we freaked a little when we saw the first jumper getting ragdolled around, but the pair were left perfectly unharmed.

Luckily they weren’t as freaked out as us, and managed to pull the cord to release their parachutes in time.

The stunt was shot by Negative4 Productions in collaboration with Go Fast Energy and Skydive Dubai – the latter of which are no strangers to adrenaline-fuelled feats.

Negative4 Productions are cut from a similar cloth, with a backlog of videos on their YouTube channel showing their team taking part in a number of daredevil base jumps and extreme sports exercises.

Here are a few examples:

Jumping from a giant, suspended net in Moab, Utah.

A dramatic, slow-motion base jump in Kjerag, Norway.

Front flipping out of an ultra-light aircraft above Mexico.
