Here are all the new flicks you’ll be able to go see from today…

Our top pick of the movies out in cinemas this week is The Circle, it’s based on a best-selling novel and stars Emma Watson and Tom Hanks.

The Circle

If you’re a slave to social media, The Circle might be the motivation you need to finally cut down on your screen time. Emma Watson plays Mae, a bright young woman who lands her dream job at a powerful tech company called The Circle. But the company’s founder Bailey (Tom Hanks) has plans for ‘the community’ that could threaten her privacy, and even her safety. Based on the best-selling Dave Eggers novel, it’s already had rave reviews.

Free Fire

The star power behind this film is off the charts: Oscar-winner Brie Larson, Cillian Murphy, Sharlto Copley and Armie Hammer to name a few. Set in 1970s Boston, it’s a dark comedy about a gun sale that goes wrong. Very wrong. It’s Reservoir Dogs meets The Departed, which makes sense with Martin Scorsese as executive producer, plus there’s a healthy dash of Anchorman (seriously, check out those 1970s outfits).

The Promise

Oscaar Isaac and Christial Bale play love rivals in The Promise, but their love triangle with the glamorous Charlotte LeBon is set against the somber background of World War One. Set in 1915, it tells the story of the Armenian genocide by the Ottoman Turkish government. Isaac plays an Armenian student in Turkey, whose life becomes endangered when war breaks out, and Bale is the American journalist trying to uncover the truth. Gripping stuff.
