A quirky Asian street food joint, an authentic Italian Trattoria and the re-opening of a swanky open-air lounge. Here are some new spots coming to the city soon…

In Dubai, it’s safe to say that we’re spoiled for choice when it comes to eating out.

It seems like with every week, another classic closes its doors, but then those closures make way for brand new concepts and a whole host of new options for dining dilemmas.

So here are three new restaurants in Dubai that are opening very soon…

1. Mr. Miyagi’s

Mr Miyagi’s will serve up Asian street food to the Media City masses, and it opens this Friday. (Fast fact: It’s taken over the space of both Spirito and the Crab Tavern – so it’s absolutely massive.) The decor is quirky and mis-matched, while a first-look at the menu shows that there’s a touch of the experimental but also some authentic street food offerings too (the whole Szechuan sea bass with capsicum celery and bok choi – Dhs129 – sounds mighty delicious). There will be a ladies’ night deal twice a week and a party brunch complete with sandcastle bucket cocktails, and live entertainment will launch some time in August.

Mr Miyagi’s, 9th Floor, Media One Hotel, 04 420 7489. Opening Friday July 21st. More info on website

2. Ravioli & Co

Ravioli & Co is a home grown concept that aims to feel like an authentic Italian Trattoria, and it’s scheduled for a mid-August opening. Set to open in Burj Daman, DIFC, the licenced restaurant will specialise in fresh pasta with a back-to-basics approach to cuisine. Simple food and family-style meals will be the heart of Ravioli & Co. There will be an in-house bakery, cooking classes and delivery available too.

3. 7 Elephants

Although this very-chic lounge opened back in April, it’s been closed for the summer and is finally reopening this September. Serving seven types of international cuisine, seven signature cocktails (anyone else seeing a pattern?) it’s an open-air space with great Burj Khalifa views. Described as a social trading lounge, there’s a clever stock-market approach to pricing. As drinks go up in demand, so do their price, and vice versa. So keep an eye on the app to bag a bargain beverage. The food is designed to be shared, with snacking dishes from seven corners of the globe, and there’s an option to order a platter from each country for social snacking.

Level C, Emirates Financial Towers, DIFC. Re-opening in September. More info on website
