We now know it’s a three-day weekend, so we’ve rounded up heaps of stuff to keep you busy.

There are free art classes and free food for kids, offers for adults on one-off brunches and fitness classes, plus two mega club openings.

Thursday September 21

1. Kids eat free all weekend at The Scene

Over the long weekend from Thursday to Saturday, British restaurant The Scene is serving up something special for the little ones. As part of their back to school promotion, kids can eat free with every adult meal purchased. It can be redeemed all day, too.

2. See a superstar opera duo

Dubai Opera is hosting opera superstars Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov for one night only. The popular couple will perform An Evening of Opera Highlights with guest star Elchin Azizov.

3. Head to a Thursday night brunch at Lucky Voice

Due to the Wednesday dry night, Lucky Voice is running a special edition of its Dukebox brunch on Thursday. There will be unlimited food and drinks on offer, plus interactive entertainment that includes a party DJ and group sing-a-longs with karaoke songs chosen by you.

4. Get down to yoga on The Palm


There’s a group yoga session happening on the beach at Anantara The Palm this Thursday. The hour-long session costs Dhs49 and will focus on combating the stresses of modern life.

5. Enjoy dinner created by a celebrity chef

Chef Heinz Beck, who has earned three Michelin stars, is back on the pots and pans this September at Social by Heinz Beck, his signature restaurant at the Waldorf Astoria. There’s a specially created seven-course menu on offer set to take you on a culinary journey, with both wine-paired and non-alcoholic options.

6. Get your party fix at Blue Marlin

Blue Marlin Ibiza UAE reopened last week, and the new look beach club will be hosting a one-off beach brunch on Friday from 1pm to 4pm for Dhs350. Plus, they’re extending their opening times for the occasion until 1am (it usually closes at 11pm). This Friday, Butch and Lee Curtis will be taking to the decks.

7. Head to the reopening of this d3 nightclub

BASE, the open-air superclub that landed in Dubai Design District in April, returns for its season opening this Friday September 22. The full new season line-up includes French Montana and Tyga, but it will be DJ Magnum doing a live PA this week to kick things off.

8. Enjoy cheese and wine at an upscale French restaurant

La Serre is hosting a cheese tasting event in collaboration with cheese master, Patrice Marchand, where you can learn about the history and tradition of some 40 cheeses that will be on offer. These will be paired with either one glass of wine for Dhs175, or three for Dhs225.

9. Head to a free fitness class

Common Grounds cafe and Warehouse Gym are coming together for a one-of-a-kind 45-minute circuit class and community breakfast this Friday. Catering to Dubai’s health and wellness community, the class is a high intensity interval training workout followed by a hearty breakfast and it’s completely free.

10. Get creative at a dreamcatcher workshop

The Shoebox is a creative collective space in Jumeirah that’s part retail, part work space. This Friday, they’re hosting a new craft workshop and inviting participants to come by and try making their own dreamcatcher. It’s Dhs200 for the three-hour class.

11. Find your zen with underwater yoga

Piloga Studio takes over the Dubai Aquarium every Saturday morning for the month of September. The weekly ‘Underwater Yoga’ series will be led by experts from Piloga Studio Pilates & Yoga, who invite participants of all abilities to join the session.

13. Party hard at the season opening of White

The Meydan superclub White Dubai is back after its summer hiatus, and it’s got a brand new look – plus two new nights WhiteHouse and Bizaar to add to its famous Saturday URBN ladies’ night. They’re kicking things off with a full line-up of some of the region’s top DJs, plus Disturbing London’s DJ Charlsey.

14. Soak up the last of the weekend
