‘Services 1’ centre is designed as a one-stop-shop to over 100 government services…

On Saturday HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai,’Services 1′ centre is designed as a one-stop-shop to over 100 government services

What makes this particular service centre different, however, is that it is run completely by Artificial Intelligence powered by IBM – yes, the massive multinational computer technology company.

Located in Emirates Towers, the ‘Services 1’ centre is designed as a one-stop-shop to over 100 government services including functions of the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Shaikh Zayed Housing Programme, Emirates Post Group, Ministry of Infrastructure Development, Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority.

It will run on IBM’s groundbreaking Watson AI platform and feature the Middle East’s largest touchscreen that customers can interact with in both Arabic and English.

During its first phase, the centre will roll out with three key services that combine processes (paperwork, fees, etc) from multiple departments into one convenient transaction. These are ‘Mabrook Ma Yaak’ (Arabic for ‘congratulations on your newborn’) for parents looking to register their new babies, ‘Mabrook Ma Dabrt’ (Arabic for ‘congratulations on your marriage) for newlyweds registering their marriage or applying for a home loan, and ‘Employment’ which allows small companies to complete the requisite paperwork to register their workers.

In a statement to government news agency WAM, HH Sheikh Mohammed said that the centre is only the start, with other similar locations expected to launch across Dubai in the near future.
