Outdoor cinema, rooftop re-openings and yoga for the little ones…

It’s all happening outside this week. You can get outside for some al fresco cinema, outside for some free drinks with a new ladies’ night, and there’s even a tropical performance to check out.

Sunday October 15

1. Catch some vintage film at the Courtyard

There’s a vintage film night happening this evening at the Courtyard Playhouse, showing one of Charlie Chaplin’s works, The Great Dictator. The film will be introduced by resident classic film expert, Jessica Pratt. It’s free entry but seats are given on a first-come-first-serve basis.

2. Dine at a recently re-opened rooftop

40 Kong is back with a new direction focused on a full dining experience. The 40th floor rooftop has had a summer refurb and is now more restaurant than bar. A full sit-down dinner menu has been created to offer international signature dishes such as Chateaubriand steak served with fine beans, shallots and chimichurri, or black cod marinated in miso.

Monday October 16

3. Head to a DIFC hotspot and girls get free drinks

There’s a new ladies’ night deal at recently re-opened 7 Elephants. From 6pm to 11pm every Monday, there’s five complimentary drinks on offer from the venue’s signature drinks menu.

4. Watch a rom-com under the stars

Outdoor Cinema Dubai is back and it returns to the grounds of the Habtoor Grand Hotel this week. On Monday, you can catch Sleepless in Seattle, the 90s romantic comedy starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.

5. Fuel your fitness

As part of The Dubai Fitness Challenge, Golden Mile Galleria is running a one month ‘Fitness Festival’ with Fitness First, Yoga La Vie, Little Gladiators and the Ripe Market to bring you a bunch of exciting fitness-based events. There’s something for everyone, including the chance to work out with Instagram star Kayla Itsines.

6. Check out a new exhibition

Pullman Dubai Creek City Centre is hosting a new art exhibition in their lobby lounge called The Winning Post. The exhibition, showcasing 22 pieces of Sri Lankan artist, Indika Wijewardhana’s finest work, will be available to view until November 12.

Wednesday October 18

7. Take the kids to a free yoga class

There’s a new free kids’ yoga class every Wednesday through October and November at the Mind Body Soul happiness center in Business Bay. Offering a free 60 minute class for children aged 8 to 12, the session encourages children to engage through emotions and interaction, and also learn yoga basics.

8. Get tropical on The Palm

Tropical Wednesdays is a new event happening every Wednesday this October at Club Vista Mare on The Palm. From 8pm to 8pm, there’s a Latin American flavour coming to the dining destination, with  a troupe of 17 performers performing lively entertainment, plus all visitors can take advantage of discounts across the restaurants.
