We stay over in a haunted hotel and eat chicken intestine, all in the name of Halloween…

From beach parties to brunches, we’ve rounded up stacks of Halloween events happening in Dubai over the next week.

But, not ones to miss out, we decided to try out two of Dubai’s Halloween challenges… here’s how we got on…

1. The Haunted Mu Cluster at Lapita

This year, Lapita Hotel is going all-out for Halloween with a themed one-night stay package for only the most daring explorers. The ‘Haunted Mu Cluster’ has a post 8pm check-in, costume-clad staff to ensure a bone-chilling stay, a haunted house experience that lasts through the night (like literally the whole night), plus a day-of-the-dead style breakfast. Expect corridors covered with skeletons, a ‘butcher’s shop’, and a whole load of noises throughout the night that are bound to keep you awake. It’s an immersive experience from start to finish, and a great one to try if you’re looking for a truly spooky Halloween experience. When we did it we didn’t sleep at all – and that’s not an exaggeration.

Lapita, Dubai Parks and Resorts, October 26 to 31, check in after 8pm from Dhs825 per room including breakfast. Tel: (04) 810 9999. dubaiparksandrestorts.com/lapita

2. The Dare Devil menu at Mr Miyagi’s

Fussy eaters of Dubai, this is quite possibly your worst nightmare. But if your stomach is made of stronger stuff, then you should definitely take on the ‘Dare Devil’ menu at Media City Asian street food spot Mr Miyagi’s. Even the most adventurous of foodies will struggle to make it through this sickening serving of chicken feet, intestines, and head (which comes complete with the beak attached) – it definitely puts the ‘argh!’ in yum cha. But if you manage to nibble your way through all of these gross-out goodies, you’ll get the Dhs49 dish for free – as well as a yummy Halloween cocktail to wash it all down with. Trust us – you’ll need it.

This, by the way, was our best attempt (we promise we actually did try everything… licking counts, right?)…

Mr Miyagi’s, Media One Hotel, Dubai Media City, October 24 to October 31, Dare Devil menu Dhs49, Scaredy Cat menu Dhs69, Tel: (04) 420 7489mrmiyagisdubai.com

3. And one you’ll find us checking out next week…

Hysteria has a special pop up at the Dubai Mall ice rink from tomorrow until Tuesday October 31. With one flashlight per group, guests are invited to find their way around, and out, of the haunted maze without getting caught by the creatures within. Halloween on ice? We’re in.

Hysteria at the Dubai Mall ice rink, 10am to 12am, Fri Oct 27 to Tues Oct 31, Price TBC. Tel: (052) 223 0866. Facebook.com/hysteriadubai
