The new routes will run from Rashidya Metro Station and Mall of the Emirates to Global Village, and start this Wednesday…

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will launch two new bus routes to the ever-popular Global Village this Wednesday November 1.

The two routes, Routes 102 and 106, seek to cope with the growing demand for more services to the attraction, which re-opens this Wednesday. Both services will run hourly and will offer direct routes to Global Village.

Route 102 will run from Rashidiya Metro Station heading directly to Global Village, and Route 106 will service passengers from Mall of the Emirates Station heading to Global Village.

The RTA will also re-operate two routes used to service Global Village last year, routes 103 and 104.

Route 103 starts from the Union metro station and heads to the Global Village via Al Rabat Street. Route 104 starts from Al Ghubaiba Station and heads to the Global Village via Al Jafiliya metro station. Both of these services will run every 30 minutes.

All four of the Global Village routes will have a flat fare of Dhs10.

“RTA is keen on broadening and upgrading the public transport network to cope with the urbanisation and demographic growth in Dubai. Attracting more community members to use public transport means in their daily travels will have positive impacts on the traffic movement and the environmental cleanliness,” commented RTA official Mohammed Abu Baker Al Hashimi.

If you’re a regular metro user but haven’t used the buses much, it’s good to note that you can use your Nol card on Dubai’s buses.
