“Nice to meet you!”

Yesterday, Emirates unveiled its extremely luxe new Boeing 777 first class suites.

Our minds were collectively blown by the zero-gravity seats and the virtual windows. And it turns out, us commoners weren’t the only ones who were impressed.

A clip posted to the official Emirates Instagram shows HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, being given a personal tour of the swagtastic new suites by Sir Tim Clark, president of Emirates.

In the clip, Sir Tim explains to Sheikh Mohammed how the virtual windows work, allowing passengers sitting in the middle rows to enjoy the outside view.

At this point, we get to hear Sheikh Mohammed speaking in English. He asks: “And this is a camera bringing [the view] from the outside?”

Sir Tim also demonstrates how passengers are able to request ‘room service’ using the video call function in the suite.

“Nice to meet you,” Sheikh Mohammed greets the flight attendant who appears on the screen.

Most of Sheikh Mohammed’s official appearances and interviews are conducted in Arabic, so it’s a bit of a treat to hear him chatting in English (although you can check out some rare English quotes from the ruler here).
