Cafe Bateel turns ten, Iris has a new menu and there’s a great dinner deal at our newly-crowned Restaurant of the Year…

From unique dining experiences to wallet-friendly dinner deals perfect for pairs, we seem to have it all when it comes to new restaurants.

But as the foodie scene gets bigger and bigger, we’re seeing both old and new concepts bringing a fresh approach to dining in Dubai.

So here are three restaurants on our radar to check out this week (here are the fresh places we pointed out last week).

Cafe Bateel turns ten

This is such a Dubai classic, and Mediterranean/Middle Eastern fusion spot Cafe Bateel is celebrating its ten year anniversary by bringing a new menu to its 29 cafés. Menu highlights include The Lobster Rigatoni, slow-cooked lobster in light curry sauce, and the Saffron Sea Bass served with green asparagus, risotto and saffron cream.

Iris launches new brunch

Iris has relaunched its brunch with Mediterranean-inspired dishes, along with live cooking stations including a barbecue, sushi bar and poke station. There’s a party atmosphere, and one that picks up as the afternoon continues, and the open-air terrace is a great place to enjoy being back outdoors now that winter is finally here.

Iris, Oberoi Hotel, Business Bay, Dubai, Friday 1pm to 5pm, Dhs140 soft, Dhs290 house, Dhs420 including cocktails. Tel: (056) 951 1442. More info on Facebook.

A great dinner deal at Il Borro Tuscan Bistro

There’s a new three-course pairing menu available at our Restaurant of the Year Il Borro Tuscan Bistro for the month of November. Curated by head chef Maurizio Bosetti, the Dhs350 menu features chicken liver crostini, mussels, and a peach crumble to finish, each paired with a cocktail.

Il Borro Tuscan Bistro, Jumeirah Al Naseem, daily until November 30, Dhs350. Tel: (04) 275 2555. More info on Facebook
