A fine dining Chinese, a new menu at a healthy eating spot and a hidden gem…

From unique dining experiences to wallet-friendly dinner deals perfect for pairs, we seem to have it all when it comes to new restaurants.

But as the foodie scene gets bigger and bigger, we’re seeing both old and new concepts bringing a fresh approach to dining in Dubai.

So here are three restaurants on our radar to check out this week (here are the fresh places we pointed out last week).

The Brand New

Long Teng: Licensed fine dining in Business Bay

Spread over an impressive five floors of U-Bora Towers, Long Teng has just opened in Business Bay. The fine dining Chinese restaurant boasts some great views of Downtown, and now that it’s cooler, we’ll certainly be picking a spot out on the open-air terrace. For a more private dining experience, there are eight separate dining rooms. The restaurant’s menu is extensive, and wonderfully traditional. Plus, there’s a full-on Friday yum cha brunch featuring xiao long bao, vegetable dumplings, siu mai, xia jiao, spring rolls, char siu bao, turnip puffs and cheung fun (rice noodle rolls).

U-Bora Towers, Business Bay, Dubai, daily 12pm to 2am. Tel: (04) 241 1666. More info on website.

The New Menu

Tribeca: A must-try menu at the healthy eating spot

Equally as popular for its lively atmosphere and healthy food, Tribeca has introduced a new menu for the winter season that’s almost all organic. From a generous serving of guac’ to superfood salads, it’s a great option for a low-calorie quick dinner in a lively atmosphere. But there are a few treats on the menu too, with a kale, bacon and fig pizza that’s definitely on our hit list, and a s’mores dessert we won’t forget in a hurry.

Tribeca, Level 1, JA Ocean View Hotel, daily 12pm to 2am. Tel: (050) 345 6067. More info on Facebook

The hidden gem

Rockfish: Another excellent restaurant at Jumeirah Al Naseem

Jumeirah Al Naseem is fast becoming one of our go-to spots for great food. Not only is it home to our Restaurant of the Year 2017, Il Borro Tuscan Bistro, it’s also where you’ll find Rockfish. The beachside seafood restaurant is set against the picturesque backdrop of the Burj Al Arab, and now the weather has cooled down, the floor to ceiling windows open up merging the indoor seating with the outdoor terrace that is basically right on the beach. Their specialty is gin, and a vintage gin trolley will serve up gins and tonics from around the world. Although we’d go for the setting alone, the food is a real highlight. Crudos come as salmon, scallop and tuna, and are all worthwhile for the seafood fans. For mains, expect to find lobster, salt crust seabass and a mixed grill.

Rockfish, Jumeirah Al Naseem, daily 6pm to 11.30pm, Fri and Sat 12.30pm to 3.30pm. Tel: (04) 275 2555. More info on website
