Sponsored: This dazzling Dubai garden is like no other…

Let’s play a word association game: When we say ‘Christmas’, one of the things that first springs to mind is thousands of twinkling lights, right?

Well, if that’s the case, we know the perfect place for getting in the holiday spirit. Dubai Garden Glow recently opened for its third season, and it’s an illuminated wonderland that visitors of all ages can enjoy.

Located in Zabeel Park, Dubai Garden Glow is the largest attraction of its kind in the Middle East. The park comes to life after dark, lit up with hundreds of spectacular installations.

A team of 500 artists from all over the world worked to create the sculptures, which are illuminated with more than 10 million energy efficient LED lights.

Spread across 100 acres, you’ll wander through enchanted forests, serene underwater scenes and vibrant tunnels, encountering all kinds of colourful creatures along the way.

A brand new attraction for this season is an enormous ice park, constructed from 5000 tonnes of ice and maintained at a chilly temperature of -7 to -8 degrees (don’t worry, you’ll be given a coat, so you’ll stay nice and toasty).

Inside, you’ll find dozens of stunning ice sculptures, including the Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, Sheikh Zayed Mosque, camels and dinosaurs.

Speaking of dinosaurs, Dubai Garden Glow is also home to a dinosaur park, featuring 100 life-sized beasts which are brought to life using state-of-the-art animatronics.

As well as the main attractions, there are food stalls dotted around the park, and vendors selling wands and other toys with a glow-in-the-dark theme.

The whole vibe is definitely festive – and very uniquely Dubai.

Dubai Garden Glow, Zabeel Park Area B, daily 4pm to midnight, Dhs60 for entry to glow park, extra Dhs40 for entry to ice park. More info on website.
