Sponsored: From leisurely breakfasts to casual drinks, Emirates Golf Club’s newest dining addition has something for everyone…

‘Tis the season for overindulgence, and while we all love a festive feast, sometimes we find ourselves craving something a little more laid back at this time of year.

Looking for somewhere to chill out with friends and family over the holidays? Well, did you know there is now an outlet of Jones the Grocer at Emirates Golf Club?

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Australian export, it’s a cafe crossed with a gourmet grocer that stocks everything from artisan cheeses to specialty ice cream.

This is the sixth Jones the Grocer in Dubai, and we think it might be the best one yet. Not only is it fully licensed, but the location is rather special, surrounded by the lush greens of the golf course. It almost feels like an escape from the city (even though it’s right in the middle of it).

Here are 5 reasons why it’s set to become your favourite neighbourhood hangout…

1. It’s super easy to get there

Emirates Golf Club is located just off Sheikh Zayed Road, with Nakheel Metro Station right outside its main entrance. This makes Jones the Grocer the perfect business lunch or after-work drinks spot for those in Media City and Internet City. It’s also just a hop, skip and a jump from neighbourhoods like JLT, The Greens, The Meadows and The Springs, and there’s plenty of parking available.

2. It’s a green oasis in the heart of the city

Craving your weekly dose of green just as much as your coffee fix? We hear you. Jones the Grocer is a place where you can feel like you’re escaping the concrete jungle, tucked away on the ground floor of the clubhouse. It even has an outdoor terrace where you can sit back, relax and soak up the views of the greens (by the way, you don’t have to be a member of the golf club – anyone can go there).

3. The menu has great variety

Jones the Grocer is already known and loved for its breakfasts (think classics like Eggs Benedict, homemade buttermilk pancakes and a full traditional English breakfast), but you’ll find something delicious at any time of day. If you’re in a hurry, there’s a grab-and-go counter offering a range of snacks, sandwiches and coffees. Want something to graze on over a glass of wine? Order the cheese or charcuterie board. If you’re after something more substantial, look to the main section of the menu, which has options like grilled spatchcock corn-fed chicken, mac and (four) cheese with lobster tail, and the signature Jones wagyu burger.

4. There’s an amazing retail section

Part of the fun of visiting Jones the Grocer is browsing the selection of gourmet goodies that you can take home. The new branch at Emirates Golf Club has an artisan cheese room and charcuterie counter, which are well worth checking out. There’s also an array of jams and chutneys, as well as tea, coffee, and even single origin Jones chocolate on offer. Here’s a tip – when you’re looking through the menu, if there’s a shopping basket symbol next to the dish, it means the ingredients are available to buy.

5. It’s family friendly

Parents, you can relax. This Jones the Grocer has a children’s play area, where the kids can keep themselves entertained while you enjoy your coffee or beer in peace. There’s even a special children’s menu – but don’t expect to see any chicken nuggets or mini hotdogs. Instead, your little foodies can enjoy decent meals like eggs on toast and brioche French toast for breakfast, and Australian wagyu meatballs and battered Atlantic cod for mains. Yum!
