The supermarket has also announced plans to open 18 new stores in the UAE…

Good news, Spinneys shoppers: You may soon be able to do your weekly grocery haul without stepping foot in a store.

According to a Gulf Business report, the supermarket is undertaking a feasibility study into an online grocery store in the UAE.

Speaking at an event in Dubai on Wednesday, incoming Spinneys CEO Matthew Frost said “inevitably” the company would find a way of delivering online “but would need to find a way that is sustainable”.

The supermarket also revealed its brick-and-mortar expansion plans, which includes 18 new stores in the UAE by 2020.

It also aims to open a new Dhs175 million headquarters in Dubai’s Meydan area by April 2019, which would include a flagship store and a cookery school (sign us up!).

For now though, die-hard Spinneys fans can look forward to a new customer loyalty programme called Spinneys & ME, which will launch early next year.
