Ahead of the annual New Year’s Eve celebrations, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced two full days of free parking in Dubai. 

All paid parking zones will be free across the emirate (except for multi-level parking lots) starting from Sunday, December 31. Parking fees will be reactivated on Tuesday, January 2.

The announcement comes after Abu Dhabi transport authorities also made the decision to make parking free for two days over New Year’s.

In the same announcement, the RTA also detailed public transport information over New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. 

The Red Line metro stations will operate continuously from 5am on Sunday 31 December 2017 to midnight on Tuesday 2 January 2018.

The Green Line will operate from 5.30am on New Year’s Eve, through to midnight on Tuesday 2 January 2018.

And the Dubai Tram will operate from 6am on New Year’s Eve, through to 1am on January 2 January 2017.
