A new fine dining Italian arrives from London, a makeover for a JLT classic, and a second serving of a popular bakery…

From wallet-friendly dinner deals perfect for pairs, to unique dining experiences you wouldn’t get anywhere else, we’re spoiled for choice when it comes to dining out in Dubai.

And if you’re looking for somewhere fresh to head to this weekend, we’ve rounded up three spots we reckon you won’t want to miss out on.

From a new opening at Jumeirah Four Seasons with fantastic service, a London makeover for a JLT classic and a second serving of a popular bakery, here are 3 fresh spots to dine at this weekend.

The brand new: Scalini

The just-opened Scalini, is a quintessential fine-dining Italian, that serves up a Dubai-twist to its traditional trattoria menu. The space itself is a contemporary mix of bright artworks, dim lights, white tablecloths and navy leathers. For the food, you can expect a typical Italian trattoria menu, led by ‘antipasti’ and ‘zuppe’ into an extensive pasta section, which moves to a final page of ‘padella’ and sides. You’ll find Dubai classics such as a beef tartare and signature burrata alongside signature spaghetti dishes served in a pasta wheel and tossed with truffle.

Scalini Dubai, Four Seasons Resort Jumeirah Beach Road, daily 12pm to 12am. Tel: (04) 349 0068. Facebook.com/Scalini-Dubai

The second serving: Eat

Following the opening of it’s Bay Square spot last year, Eat artisanal bakery has debuted a second location in JLT. The family-friendly spot is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is home to a children’s play area too. Pets will also welcomed within the venue’s outdoor seating area. The casual cafe menu features typical pastries, salads and freshly baked goods, but also offers dishes including Slow Braised Lamb Shank served with roasted garlic mash and balsamic roasted root vegetables and spicy Thai green curry with steamed rice.

Swiss Tower, Cluster Y, JLT daily 7.30am to 7pm. Tel: (04) 432 2023 . Eatartisanalbakery.com

The revamp: Jazz@PizzaExpress

Channeling London vibes, inspired by the first ever Jazz@PizzaExpress, the JLT spot has had a makeover. Complete with the iconic red British phone box, a quirky 60’s lamppost and city street signage, it’s now a super instagrammable spot. There’s a brand new cocktail menu, an update to their existing food menu, which has added the likes of salads under 600 calories, gluten free items and vegetarian options, as well as daily live music.

JLT, Cluster A, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Sat to Weds 12pm to 1am, Thurs and Fri 12pm to 2am. Tel: (04) 441 6342. pizzaexpress.ae
