Sip something cool and soak up the views while suspended 40 metres in the air…

If you’ve been hanging out at JBR recently, you might have noticed a mysterious-looking structure taking shape near Roxy Cinema.

What exactly is it? Well, it’s going to be a brand new attraction called Flying Cup Dubai.

Basically, it’s a platform that allows guests to be hoisted 40 metres into the sky, where they will proceed to enjoy a beverage with their feet dangling in the air.

Here’s a video that shows the concept in more detail:

According to the recently-updated Flying Cup website, tickets will start from Dhs75 (we’re not sure if that includes a drink or not). Children as young as four years old will be able to enjoy the experience.

The attraction will be open from 10am to midnight Sunday to Wednesday, and until 1am on Thursday through Saturday. While a grand opening date is yet to be announced, the structure appears to be going up pretty quickly – so it can’t be too far away. We’ll let you know as soon as we have the details.

Sound familiar? You might recall Dinner in the Sky, another sky-high attraction that involved sitting down for a meal at 50 metres in the air.

Here’s what happened when we tried that one:
