If you’re wandering around Zabeel Park, don’t be too alarmed if you suddenly hear a loud roar.

You will have stumbled across Dubai’s very own Jurassic Park experience the Dinosaur Park at Dubai Garden Glow.

This unique park features more than 100 life-sized beasts which are brought to life using state-of-the-art animatronics. You’ll witness the prehistoric creatures swinging their tails, opening their mouths, and popping out of eggs.

Be sure to watch out for the dinosaur who has escaped from the park, and roams about the grounds, chasing unsuspecting visitors. See if you can get a selfie with him (before he tries to take a snap at you).

When can you catch him? Dinosaur show timings are at 6.30pm, 7.30pm, 8.30pm and 9.30pm Saturday to Thursday, with an additional show at 10.30pm on Fridays.

Mixing entertainment with education, the Dinosaur Park offers plenty to discover about the lives of these animals that once ruled the Earth – and how they were ultimately driven to extinction.

At the Dinosaur Lab, you can witness a baby dinosaur hatching out of an egg, while at the Dinosaur Museum, you’ll find replicas of their skeletons on display.

Little paleontologists can also join in on the fun, with activities like dinosaur rides and dinosaur feeding.

Now in its third season, highlights at Dubai Garden Glow include a new Ice Park attraction, home to a collection of ice sculptures constructed from 5000 tonnes of ice.

There is also a new ‘Magical Nights’ area, littered with illuminated animal sculptures and a laser show, a #mydubai art installation, a ‘Sea World’ experience and a ‘Happy Forest’ installation made from recycled fabrics.

These new additions join the existing glow garden filled with installations constructed from 10 million energy-efficient LED lights.

Dubai Garden Glow, Zabeel Park Area B, daily 4pm to midnight, Dhs60 for entry, free for children under 3. More info on website.
