1. Party at a popular 80s night

Sundays at Sho Cho Dubai are all about the 80s, hosted by popular DJs Samad Idas and Dj Elie. Head down early to take advantage of happy hour drinks from 6pm to 9pm, and enjoy the nostalgic beats from the likes of Madonna and Michael Jackson.

2. Tuck in to a new wings night at a Caribbean spot

Ting Irie, the homegrown Caribbean restaurant in Downtown Dubai has just launched their Wings ‘n’ Tings night, every Monday and Wednesday. The restaurant is serving up seven flavours of wings with a unique Caribbean twist such as passionfruit and appleton rum. They’re Dhs50 for six, or Dhs85 for a dozen.

3. Try out a private pilates class

If big exercise classes aren’t for you, we might just have found what you’re looking for. Phoenix Rising offer a host of pilates, yoga and acra yoga classes for adults and children across Dubai throughout the week and weekend, but their new private pilates classes allow you to work out one-on-one with your instructor. Hosted by Kirsty MacPherson-Wright, the new private pilates classes incorporate the use of the reformer pilates machine which can be adjusted to suit your body shape, your flexibility and your strength. Classes revolve around standing, sitting, laying down and utilizing the pulley system to tone muscles and strengthen the core.

4. Enjoy a date night at Meydan

Swanky steakhouse Prime at the Meydan Hotel has designed a new date night set menu that’s offered up daily. Curated by Chef Raphael Raschke, the three course set menu is served up alongside a live piano performance and bottle of house wine.

5. Take advantage of a free drink

It’s margarita week at the recently refurbished Maya Mexican Kitchen & Bar at Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa. To celebrate, the Mexican restaurant is offering all guests a complimentary margarita on arrival, with margaritas priced at Dhs35 for the rest of the evening. There’s a live Latino DJ playing throughout the week until Wednesday.

6. Enjoy a movie under the stars in DIFC

Urban Outdoor Cinema has a new home in DIFC’s Gate Village and will be showing films al fresco every Wednesday for the next three weeks. You can find the pop up cinema on the Spanish Steps between Gate Village 3 and 4, showing films including Slumdog Millionaire and Million Dollar Baby

7. See an award-winning hip-hop star

Lloyd Banks is an American Hip- Hop recording artist and member of East Coast hip hop group G-Unit, alongside childhood friends and fellow American rappers, 50 Cent and Tony Yayo. You can catch him at Cavalli’s urban night Rosay this Wednesday.

8. See the Shaolin Warriors at Dubai Opera

Masters of kung fu, the Shaolin Warriors are kicking and punching their way into their Dubai debut this week. Direct from China, the 21 Shaolin Warriors have devised a show displaying their agility, strength and physical endurance achieved through rigorous martial arts training and Buddhist meditation. Expect to see demonstrations of strength as well as incredible feats that would make a normal human wince.
