We love this video of the Dubai Ruler…

This weekend, the annual Dubai World Cup spectacular took over Meydan. As well as top frocks, a stunning firework show and celeb-filled after parties, there’s also the small matter of one of the world’s richest horse races.

Jockeys were this year in competition for a slice of the eye-watering US$30 million (Dhs110,190,000) prize money up for grabs. And this year, the eventual winner of the Dubai World Cup was Godolphin’s Thunder Snow, ridden by Christophe Soumillon.

It was a fantastic win for Godolphin, the Dubai-based stable, founded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. And in videos posted to Instagram, the Dubai Ruler could be seen celebrating his stables’ terrific win.

But it wasn’t just Sheikh Mohammed who got a taste of victory, Dubai Crown Prince HH Sheikh Hamdan also saw one of his horses come out on top, as his horse Heavy Metal won the first race of the day.

Here are a round up of some of our favourite Dubai World Cup snaps…
