The park will close this week, and reopen on October 1…

It became an instant hit when it opened its doors in December 2017, but Dubai Safari has just announced that it is set to close its doors to visitors this week ahead of a summer upgrade.

Closing on Tuesday May 15, the upgrade is expected to take 108 days, with the park reopening on October 1. However, due to bad weather, Dubai Safari is advertising on its social media that it is closed today.

So what can we expect from the upgrade?

Well, more climatized areas for animals are expected to be added, as well as new engaging programmes and interactive experiences.

“In line with our commitment to offering a superior customer experience, the upgrades seek to provide a better habitat for our animals, and a more interactive and educational experience for our visitors” Dubai Safari said in a statement, according to Gulf News.

What these experiences will be, we’re not sure, although we look forward to seeing what the park adds over it’s closed months.

Dubai Safari, which spans an impressive 119 hectacres, is home to more than 2,500 animals, representing more than 250 species. Inside, guests can check out four villages: African, Arabian, Asian and an Open Safari village.

By 2020, the park is set to be home to around 5000 animals.
