Local ride-hailing company Careem has introduced a new 24-hour roadside assistance service that can be booked directly via its app.

The move is in partnership with car battery replacement firm Battmobile, and offers a number of helpful options for anyone experiencing car trouble, including battery replacement, fuel delivery, emergency flat-tire replacement, jump starts, battery boosting and diagnostics.

Currently only available in Dubai, the service functions in a similar fashion to booking a ride, whereby users are able to track the progress of the service vehicle via the Careem app.

The service costs Dhs75, which according to a report from Arabian Business is cheaper than booking the comparable service directly via Battmobile for Dhs90.
