The British singer-songwriter will be in town next week…

Popular for his folk-style voice and catching guitar-based hits, British singer-songwriter Newton Faulkner is set to play a Dubai gig next week.

His performance will be at PizzaExpress Live in Business Bay on Friday June 29, and best of all, it’s free to attend. But you’ll need to be quick, as booking is essential, and there are very few spots remaining.

If the name doesn’t ring a bell, perhaps his 2007 hit, ‘Dream Catch Me’, will jog your memory. It debuted in the top 10 in both the UK and Australia, and saw Faulkner become known for his percussive style, guitar-based songs.

Entrance to the gig next week is free, you just have to spend a minimum of Dhs100 on food or drink. It’s a standing event, so no need to book a table (or a seat), and it’s kicking off from 8pm.

Local band Vandalye will warm things up, while it’s expected the singer-songwriter will take to the stage around 10pm.

PizzaExpress Live in general, it’s our newest live and licensed venue in the Pizza Express chain, which has a further five Dubai outposts. Since opening in April, the venue has played host to regular comedy nights, salsa nights, Soul & Beat nights and live musicians.

PizzaExpress Live, DoubleTree by Hilton Business Bay, 8pm onwards, Friday June 29, free, reservations essential. Tel: (055) 710 0403. More info on website
