Sponsored: Pickled vegetables, homemade lemonade, and a garden setting… here’s where to beat the heat on a Friday.

Beautiful green spaces are hard to find in Dubai – unless you know where to look. Which is why we’re shining a light on the Waldorf Astoria’s Secret Garden Brunch.

Visiting the Waldorf Astoria is an experience in itself. The stunning hotel is perched on the north-eastern tip of the Palm Jumeirah, far from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Its family-friendly Friday brunch takes place inside the light and airy Mezzerie restaurant, which is transformed into an indoor garden for the occasion inspired by the hotel’s very own organic garden.

The garden theme continues through the brunch menu, with a focus on fresh and seasonal ingredients. You’ll find a pickled vegetable bar, as well as salads made from herbs and flowers plucked straight from the garden.

There’s also all of your regular brunch classics, like seafood and grills, accompanied by a selection of French raw milk cheeses and freshly baked pies in fruity flavours like rhubarb, peach and cherry.

To wash it all down, try the homemade lemonade, or pay a visit to the water bar with refreshing combinations like rosemary and peach, cinnamon and apple, or strawberry and basil.

A lovely place to escape the heat with seriously good food? It’s too good to keep a secret.
