The world’s largest jigsaw puzzle features the UAE founding fathers’ visage front and centre…

Dubai is no stranger to world record attempts but this latest one strikes a more meaningful note than any others that came before it.

DMCC and the Dubai Government have announced that the city is now home to the world’s largest jigsaw puzzle by surface area, as confirmed by Guinness World Records.

Of course, this is no ordinary jigsaw puzzle. Aside from it being positively massive – it’s made up of more than 12,000 wooden pieces and spans an area of over 6,000 square metres – the unique piece is also a celebration of the Year of Zayed and features the initiatives official logo, complete with the UAE founding fathers’ visage front and centre.

“The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan was a visionary leader of rare perception. His Highness was confident, charismatic, encouraged the continuous pursuit of excellence and made bold decisions in the face of uncertainty. He also created a sense of collective purpose and possessed a granite understanding of progress for his people,” said Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman of DMCC.

The jigsaw is located within DMCC’s much-anticipated Uptown District near JLT and will be recycled after the completion of the project in line with the the country’s commitment to sustainability.
