Throwing it back to your student days, Mr Miyagi’s combines its Hello Kitty ladies’ night with a retro silent disco every Tuesday. From 5pm onwards, there’s three drinks and three dishes for ladies in the restaurant for Dhs99, with the silent disco kicking off next door in the bar from 11pm. It’s free entry for all, with three free drinks for girls too.

Wednesday: Clueless ladies’ night at The House Party Bar

Think you’ve tried every kind of ladies’ night in the city? Think again. Adjacent to Cirque Le Soir in the Fairmont Sheikh Zayed Road you’ll now find House Party Bar, and it’s one of our favourite new season finds. On Wednesday, they host their weekly Clueless ladies’ night, where girls can take advantage of three free drinks served up to a girl-power soundtrack spun by DJ Natalie Brogan. Laid out like a college house party, expect to be playing prosecco pong, giant jenga or jumping into a ball pit by the end of the night. It’s strictly girls-only from 6pm to 8pm, with the boys invited to join from 9pm

The House Party Bar, Fairmont Sheikh Zayed Road, Downtown Dubai, 6pm onwards, Wednesdays, free entry. Tel: (050) 995 5400. Facebook.com/TheHousePartyBar

Thursday: The Big Sing at Lucky Voice

This Thursday, Lucky Voice is set to host it’s first dedicated ballads night called The Big Sing. Hosted by one of our favourite MC’s Alan J. Amazing, expect a night filled with crowd-karaoke classics from icons including Whitney Houston, Aerosmith and Queen. Retro 80s and 90s costume is encouraged, with a prize for the best fancy dress. Bring a big group of ten or more down before 9pm, and you’ll get a free litre of wine, 10 budweisers and three pizzas on the house.

Mixing traditional bingo with impromptu raves, hands-in-the-air anthems and plenty of heckling, Bongo’s Bingo is one of the city’s wildest (and most fun) nights out. By the end of the night, expect dancing on tables, novelty prizes and crazy costumes. The next installment of Bongos Bingo is this Thursday July 26 and tickets are Dhs100.
