HH Sheikh Mohammed also shared his congratulations with the winning side…

Last night’s 2018 FIFA World Cup final game between France and Croatia was a cracker – and while France emerged victorious with a convincing 4-2 win, the underdogs Croatia put up a fight worthy of the sporting history books.

In celebration of France’s World Cup win (this is now the second time they’ve been crowned champions) our very own Burj Khalifa lit up in a bold statement of congratulations

And that’s not all, even HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai offered his congratulations via Twitter to the winning team as well as the runners up and host nation, Russia.

Elsewhere in Dubai people came out in force to watch the game with many of the city’s bars and venues filling up way beyond capacity.

We love the spirit and sense of sportsmanship that this World Cup final brought out in everyone
