It’s the year for royal weddings…

Dubai is set to host a royal wedding of its very own after a member of the Al Maktoum family announced their engagement.

Sheikha Maryam Mohammed Rashid Al Maktoum is set to marry Sheikh Khalid Bin Mohammed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, according to social media posts.

Sheikha Maryam, the daughter of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, was widely congratulated by members of the royal family.

“May the rest of your lives be filled with love, joy & happiness,” wrote Sheikha Latifa Mohammed Rashid Al Maktoum.

Sheikh Khalid, a member of Abu Dhabi’s ruling family, is a graduate of the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst – the same place where British Princes William and Harry trained, as well as several UAE royals, including Sheikh Mohammed and HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.
