The public art piece will be on display on the outer wall of the Dubai Ladies Club for one year…

Art lovers in Dubai have a new piece of public art to marvel at in the form of a stunning mural dedicated to Sheikh Zayed, the founding father of the UAE.

In commemoration of 52 years since the late ruler’s assumed leadership in Abu Dhabi on August 6, 1966, the Cultural Office of HH Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum unveiled the 140-metre long piece which makes up part of the Al Ydar mural project launched as part of the Year of Zayed.

The mural features various works exploring the journey and achievements of Sheikh Zayed and was created in collaboration with the help of 22 female Emirati students from the College of Arts and Creative Enterprises at Dubai’s Zayed University.

The mural will be on display for one year on the outer wall of the Dubai Ladies Club in Jumeirah and is made of six connected sections drawing inspiration from Sheikh Zayed’s values, including wisdom, respect, sustainability and human development.
