There are still three to look forward to…

We know it’s only just been a three day weekend in Dubai.

But if like us you were wondering when your next long weekend will be, we’ve got some good news: there are still three public holidays to look forward to this year in Dubai.

The next public holiday is Milad Un Nabi, which marks Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday and usually means a day off. This year, it falls on or around Monday November 19, although a day off is dependent on the sighting of the moon.

We won’t know until closer to the time whether we’ll be a day off in the week, or whether we’ll get another long weekend. Either way, it’s only just over two months away.

What about after that?

November 30 marks Commemoration Day in the UAE. Formerly referred to as Martyrs’ Day, this holiday honours the Emiratis who have died while protecting their country. It falls on a Friday this year, which means it may be combined with National Day.

The last holiday of the year is National Day, which falls on Sunday December 2, so we’re likely to have at least one day off. 2018 will mark the UAE’s 47th birthday, celebrating the unification of the seven emirates in 1971.
