Confirmed: A human slingshot is opening on Kite Beach this weekend

Thrill seekers will be propelled 120 metres over sand and water at up to 100 kilometres an hour at the new attraction…

Last month, we spied XDubai working on what looked like another hair-raising stunt on Kite Beach and now it’s been confirmed: the brand are launching (literally) Dubai’s first human slingshot.

The XDubai Slingshot will see thrill seekers fitted into the slingshot, and then propelled at a force up to 4 Gs, reaching speeds of up to 100 kilometres an hour in just half a second, traveling 120 metres over sand and water.

Here’s what happened when we checked it out:

Designed for single riders, the attraction will be open to the public on Friday October 26. It will be open for a limited time only on Thursdays Friday and Saturdays from 9am to midday and 1pm to 7pm. Priced at Dhs280 per person, tickets will be available onsite only, and given on a first come, first serve basis.

The new Slingshot  – the region’s fastest- is an incredibly thrilling experience that invites people to stretch their limits. Not for the faint of heart, the Slingshot, provides a quintessential XDubai experience designed specifically for the region’s adventure-seekers,” commented XDubai’s General Manager, Mohammed Javad.

Not convinced? Rest assured all riders must meet strict safety measures, and are required to wear safety helmets throughout the experience.

It’s the latest hair-raising opening from the XDubai team, following on from the launch of the XLine Dubai Marina in December 2017. The 1km zipline became the world’s longest urban zipline, and sees daredevils launched from a JBR building across the Marina to a platform at the Address hotel.
