The change appeared on du phones over the weekend…

Eagle eyed residents may have spotted a change to their network provider name over the weekend, replaced by the words ‘challenge accepted’. Been wondering why? Well it’s all in the name of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, which launched on Friday.

The fitness initiative, launched by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, encourages residents to commit to 30 minutes of exercise every day for 30 days. It’s the second year the initiative has run, this year taking place from Friday October 26 to November 24.

Currently, it appears that the change has happened on du phones, while etisalat remains the same.

It’s not the first time network providers have changed name. Both du and etisalat have previously changed their name to Labour Day, to markWorld Labour Day, Zayed Humanitarian Day, in honour of the day dedicated to the the good deeds and achievements of the late Sheikh Zayed, and ‘WelcomePresChina’ back in July, to mark the state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
