The world’s biggest beer and folk festival is here…

Oktoberfest might have originated in Germany, but that won’t stop Dubai from getting in on the action. The beer and folk festival kicks off in mid-September and lasts up to 16 or 18 days in the city’s capital of Munich.

This year, you’ll find a host of restaurants and bars bringing the all-singing, all-dancing festival to Dubai. So dust off your lederhosen and pack in those pretzels, here are the best places to celebrate Oktoberfest in Dubai.

Brothaus

Bakery-bistro Brothaus will be bringing six weeks of Oktoberfest festivities to its own Oktoberfest tent from Saturday September 22 until October 31. Feast on dishes such as Münchener Weisswurste (white sausages), and Apfelstrudel (Apple Strudel), sharing platters from Dhs85 and bucket beer deals from Dhs150.

Dubai Sports City

Two days of Bavarian madness come to Dubai Sports City on Thursday October 4 and Friday October 5. Held at the fully air-conditioned Dome in Dubai Sports City, it promises happy hour deals, a variety of food stations and lots of entertainment options including original Bavarian band “Die Derbys” back for their eighth year. Tickets cost Dhs 35, or it’s free entry in Drindls & Lederhosen.

Emirates Golf Club

Emirates Central at Emirates Golf Club is getting a Bavarian makeover for the weekend from Thursday October 11 to 13. It’ll be a themed a la carte offering alongside a live band on Thursday, with brunches taking place from 4pm to 7pm on both Friday and Saturday for Dhs325 for the house package. It’s family friendly too, with plenty of games and activities to keep the little ones busy.

Garden on 8

Garden on 8 is bringing unique brews, German dishes, music from German DJ EleKtronoiR and even a live stream of Oktoberfest from Munich to Media One Hotel for Oktoberfest. Beer fans can grab a passport and travel the world sampling all the hops on offer at the pub garden, with completed passports entered into a raffle to win prizes include brunches and staycations. Deals on offer include a stein of beer and a bratwurst for Dhs130, a bucket of five beers or beer tower for Dhs240.

Grand Hyatt

Kicking off on Wednesday October 10, this 17 day long celebration of the world’s biggest beer and folk festival will see the Grand Hyatt transformed into a pretzel-eating paradise. Guests are encouraged to dig out their finest Lederhosen or Dirndl for a lively afternoon of traditional German eats, live music and top craft beers. It’s open from Tuesday to Saturday, with a Dhs1000 deposit minimum spend on tables on Thursday and Friday, and a weekly Saturday afternoon brunch.

The Huddle

Oktoberfest festivities are taking over The Huddle bars at both Al Barsha and Bur Dubai locations from September 27 to October 12. Expect pints of draft brews from Dhs40, special craft bottles and themed dishes such as pretzels and Curry Wurst.

Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Residence is hosting Oktoberfest celebrations for two weekends this October. Expect authentic Bavarian specialties alongside music by Bernd Hinteregger and Die Band all throughout the festival. Oktoberfest makes its way to The Tap House on The Palm from Saturday September 22 until the Sunday October 7.The beachfront gastro pub will introduce a limited edition Oktoberfest menu for Dhs79, alongside beverage deals which include a pitcher of Paulaner available for Dhs99 or the choice of a bucket of five beers (Hofbräu Weissbier or Erdinger Weissbräu) for Dhs175.
