Sneakerheads, get excited…

The region’s biggest culture festival Sole DXB is returning to Dubai Design District for three days from December 6.

The cultural festival will run until December 8 and showcase top street culture names across art, food, music, sports and style.

Launched back in 2010, each year Sole DXB takes on a new theme, with this year dedicated to what’s next from around the globe. Paying homage to the 30th anniversary of the second Summer of Love, Sole DXB looks to celebrate a new cultural movement championing young, independent brands, and celebrate the next generation of creators and artists from South Africa, India, Turkey, Nigeria, UAE and more.

What started out as a humble block party, the weekend-long festival now welcomes around 22,000 people and is known as a part-festival, part-trade fair, focusing on four key pillars: hip-hop, fashion, art and basketball.

Over the three days, guests will be able to expect talks, workshops, live performances, exhibitions, and plenty of fashion.

Already announced events include an ‘experimental activation’ from adidas and new launches from PUMA, who will drop the Selena Gomez X PUMA ‘Strong Girl’ collection.

A selection of young and emerging bands will perform at the festival as well, including Leaf Apparel and Unknown Union from South Africa and homegrown acts Precious Trust and Amongst Few.

Other highlights include a Sole DXB basketball tournament and the ‘Sneaker Swap’, where people can buy, sell and trade footwear from leading collectors in the region.

More announcements are expected soon, so stay tuned…
