So, in an effort to avoid making such mistakes, Premium Belgian brand Stella Artois’ very own sommelier has, over a three month period, meticulously trained bar staff in 80 venues across the UAE on how to serve the perfect four-step pour.
The budding pourers were whittled down to five finalists, and an eventual winner – who was given the first What’s On Stella Artois Perfect Serve award.
And to celebrate, we’re rounding up some great deals to enjoy at each of the shortlisted venues – just be sure to ask for the perfect pour, too…
Winner: Belgian Beer Cafe, Grand Millennium
Everybody loves Belgian Beer Cafe in Barsha Heights, from travelling businessman to expats to fans of mussels and chips with mayonaise. For one, it checks all the pub boxes (hearty food? TV screens showing all the football? Cosy vibe?), and for two it knows how to pour a proper pint.
What’s the deal: Through December, it’s introducing Le Brunchette, where guests can enjoy two hours of unlimited Stella Artois and selected sharing bites for Dhs200 every day.
Finalist: Nezesaussi Grill, Manzil Downtown
With a serious number of screens, plentiful plates of wings, and affordable drinks, this southern hemisphere-themed sports bar has become a go-to favourite for watching live games.
What’s the deal: At Le Brunchette at Nezesaussi Grill this December, enjoy two hours of free-flowing Stella Artois and selected sharing bites for only Dhs180 all day, every day.
Finalist: Nelsons, Media Rotana
A Dubai institution with an old-school clientele, Nelsons has the vibe of a warm British pub with hardwood floors, leather couches and antique lamps. The food menu is for serious eaters: think nine varieties of mac and cheese, sausage by the metre, and an enormous 450g US T-bone steak – all washed down with a generous selection of ales on tap.
What’s the deal: Throughout December, Nelsons is offering two Stella Artois deals: three pints for Dhs95, and a four bottle bucket deal for Dhs145. You can also receive two pints of Stella Artois and a continental sharing platter for Dhs120. Dishes include chicken wings, meat and cheese balls, plus fries.
Finalist: Bridgewater Tavern
This industrial-ish spot inside JW Marriott Marquis Dubai shows live games across a multitude of screens, which you can watch while indulging in an impressive menu of gastropub fare like fire cracker calamari, open faced BBQ brisket sub, and the pretzel burger.
What’s the deal: Check out Bridgewater Tavern’s daily happy hours from 4pm to 7pm. Also check out their sister venue Cafe Artois next door, for all day serving of Le Brunchette – two hours of free flow Stella Artois and a selection of sharing bites for Dhs180 all day every day.

Finalist: The Original Belgian Café, Dubai Festival City
There may be a few Belgian Beer Cafes around town, but this Festival City branch has a lovely outdoor area overlooking the Creek that makes it one of the best. The atmosphere is always lively, the selection of Belgian hops is wide, and the food is consistently good.
