It’s that time of year again…

More than 100,000 travellers are expected to descend on Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport this weekend ahead of the winter break.

Emirates has urged passengers to reach the airport at least three hours before their flight departs due to the increased number of people and heavy roadworks around the airport.

The airline said the busiest day for departures will be on Friday December 14, with over 30,000 passengers scheduled to travel on this day alone.

This high number of passengers is set to peak again on Friday December 21 and Saturday December 22 during the home stretch to Christmas.

With roadworks causing traffic and delays around DXB, Emirates is warning passengers to allow extra time for their journey to the airport. Passengers can physically check in at the airport as early as six hours before their flight leaves.

Those who try to check in less than 60 minutes before their flight will not be accepted for travel.

To speed up the process, passengers can also check in online from 48 hours to 90 minutes before their flight.
