The amnesty has been extended until December 31…

The UAE visa amnesty, which began in August, has been extended for the month of December. The move is described by officials as a ‘generous initiative’ to mark the country’s 47th anniversary, and will now run until December 31.

The amnesty allows illegal residents in the UAE to apply for a sixth month visa and settle their status, or leave the country without facing fines or legal issues. Visa violators have the option to either rectify their status, or exit the country. If they choose to do the latter, any fees or fines they might have incurred as a result of their illegal stay will be waived.
